Upgrading CiscoPro Routers Using Router
Software Loader:
In order to load Cisco IOS version 11.2 or later on a CiscoPro
CPA1000, CPA1600, CPA2500 or CPA4500 router, it is necessary to
upgrade the software license that resides in the router firmware. This
is not necessary for CiscoPro models CPA3600 and CPA4700.
If you have a PC running Windows95, you can use Router Software
Loader to load the new Cisco IOS software. During the image load
process, Router Software Loader will detect that a license upgrade is
necessary and perform this upgrade for you.
If you do not have Windows 95, you will need to update the router
license using a 3rd party TFTP program before loading Cisco IOS
version 11.2 or later.
To perform this upgrade, first select the appropriate license
upgrade file from the list below, and download it to your PC or
workstation. Next, follow the steps listed in documentation above.
The router is then reloaded, booting from this upgrade file, at
which time the license is updated. The TFTP program can then be used
to load the required Cisco IOS 11.2 image.
